In the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News from Taiwan, also known as Formosa…
As the winter cold swept across the island, disadvantaged populations, especially those without shelter, became the most vulnerable. Following the loving example and Teaching of our Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), members of our Association assisted both humans and animal friends during the 2024-2025 winter season.
In the north, our Taipei Center extended support to people experiencing homelessness at Taipei Railway Station, where many seek shelter overnight due to economic hardships. The team distributed thick hats, socks, towels, warm packs, vegan instant noodles, and pastries. They also served freshly made hot ginger tea, bringing much-needed warmth and comfort on a cold night.
In Keelung and Xizhi, our Association members visited areas near train stations, distributing warm jackets, sleeping bags, blankets, gloves, vegan canned food, and vegan instant noodles.

They also visited Wang Jia-Xiang’s Dog Sanctuary and delivered 30 bags of 20-kilogram vegan dog-people food to support the animal-residents there. Mr. Wang, the caregiver, is a well-known writer and former newspaper editor who recently adopted a vegetarian diet but struggles with limited vegan food options. To support his transition, our team gifted him with vegan ham and vegan patties. Additionally, they presented him with Master’s book, “From Crisis to Peace: The Organic Vegan Way is the Answer.”
In Hualien, our team visited the Taroko community in Tongmen Village, distributing quilts, vegan dry and canned food, plus other daily necessities to elderly villagers facing hardships such as physical disabilities and chronic illnesses.
In Chiayi and Yunlin, our Association members visited railway stations and parks, offering warm coats, trousers, toiletries, and vegan mixed congee to the homeless.
In Changhua, in collaboration with local village offices, our Association members delivered daily necessities, as well as cash red envelopes, to disadvantaged families and elderly individuals in rural areas.
In Miaoli, our team provided rice, oil, vegan noodles, vegan instant noodles, and warm clothing such as coats, pants, and socks to homeless individuals, elderly, and impoverished students.
In Taichung, our Association members provided homeless individuals with winter coats, sleeping bags, fresh clothing, and vegan food. They also carried out a year-end cleanup at a shelter for stray dog-people, and donated NT$20,000 (US$609) for their medical needs. Additionally, they supplied cleaning materials and warm jackets for the volunteers.
In Nantou, with support from the Nantou County Government’s Social Affairs Bureau, our members provided vegan food supplies to low-income households and homeless individuals.

They also supported 59 less fortunate households in Xinzhi Village, providing them with rice, oil, vegan noodles, vegan instant noodles, vegan breakfast rolls, and vegan biscuits with the help of the village chief.
Along with winter relief supplies, our Association members shared Supreme Master Ching Hai’s book “Love is the Only Solution,” Supreme Master Television and Alternative Living flyers, as well as vegan recipes, encouraging recipients to adopt a vegan lifestyle, watch Supreme Master Television, and recite The Most Powerful Daily Prayer. Deeply touched by the kindness extended, many recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude for the aid and information provided. Some were even moved to tears, thanking Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her Love and Care. With gratitude to our Most Compassionate Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her loving guidance, we thank our Association members in Taiwan (Formosa) for their thoughtful efforts in supporting those most in need this winter. In God’s ever-present Mercy, may the Vegan World soon manifest, ensuring peace, abundance, and joy for all beings on Earth.
