I love a hearty vegan bake and today I would like to share how to make potato gratin. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (360 degrees Fahrenheit). Finely slice one kilogram of potatoes, approximately two millimeters thick. You may have to peel the potatoes first depending on which kind you’re using. Layer the potato slices in a baking dish. To make the vegan cheese sauce, thoroughly blend: 250 milliliters of water, 100 grams of sunflower seeds, 4 tablespoons (60 milliliters) of olive oil, 3 tablespoons (45 milliliters) of lemon juice, 3 teaspoons (8-10 grams) of minced garlic, one and half teaspoons of salt (9 grams), and then add black pepper to taste. Adding nutritional yeast to the sauce is a great option too. Once fully blended, pour the sauce over the potatoes and bake for 45-50 minutes in the oven. Top the finished dish with fried onions for a classic taste.
