Planning ahead for the seasonal changes is always a wise decision. Here is a gardening fire safety tip for you. To enhance safety around your home, choose fire-resistant plants for your landscape. Native plants, especially drought-tolerant varieties with high internal water content, are typically more fire resistant. These plants commonly have moist, supple leaves and non-aromatic sap, creating a slow burning rate if exposed to fire. Recommended shrubs include azalea, butterfly bush, camellia, forsythia, lilac, rose of Sharon, spirea, and viburnum, along with deciduous trees like oak, maple, redbud, and dogwood. Groundcovers such as ajuga, sedum, hen and chicks, and creeping thyme are also excellent options. Wise choices of perennial plants include daylily, iris, echinacea, hosta, columbine, various bulbs, and coreopsis. Be cautious of flammable plants that have saps that are aromatic or a sticky resin, as well as those that produce dry dead material, have papery bark, or high oil content, such as conifers, palms, sagebrush, rosemary, eucalyptus, and fountain grass, as well as other dry ornamental grasses.

The joke of the day is here to take us to our next destination: chuckle land! It’s entitled “Advertising in the Wrong Places.”

Payton is a skilled accountant who is not so great at self-promotion. So, when an ad salesman offered to put a placard advertising his accounting services on the shopping carts of a local supermarket, he jumped at the chance. Because, why not? Payton did receive daily calls after that, however of a different sort.

“Hallo. Payton Callahan?”

“That’s right, how may I help you?”

“Yes, just to let you know one of your shopping carts is in my yard, if you want to come pick it up.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Hsin-Jou in Taiwan, also known as Formosa
