According to new research, boiling and filtering your tap water can significantly reduce the quantity of microplastics you consume. A recent study found that boiling mineral-rich water for only five minutes can decrease the amount of nano-sized microplastic exposure by up to 90%. Tap water contains alkaline minerals like calcium that produces a chalk-like residue when boiled, called limescale, or calcium carbonate, and that helps trap the plastic particles. This residue can then be removed from the water using a stainless-steel filter or standard coffee filter. This is a safe, simple, and effective solution for removing microplastics.

“Why were they so irresponsible like that?”

“Because they didn’t recognize who I was!”
