I’ve told you, the (inner Heavenly) Sound is stronger. It catches our attention. As to the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation, if we are not very still, the Light hasn’t come yet, we’ll not see any realm. That’s why it’s more boring. That’s why we have to do the Light meditation longer, while the Sound shorter. Doing the Sound for a shorter time is enough. The Light meditation needs to be longer, even a whole day is not enough. […]

Every three-day and seven-day retreat, I swear that it’d be the last one. But then I’d forget later, just like you having babies. When you have a baby, you’d say, “Ah, I’m fed up. I won’t have any more babies.” Then you forget. When he/she gets bigger and becomes so cute, you miss the little him/her, and you forget again. Then you have another one and say, “Oh, no. This is not OK. No. No more babies from now on.” Then you forget again. It’s like that every time. OK. I hope I can forget often as well. Otherwise, I cannot work in this world. I don’t know why. This job is very tiring. Maybe it’d be easier for you to do it. (Difficult.) How do you know? You haven’t done it yet. No? Really? Would it be easier? (No way.) Is it a personality problem? (No.) (We know Master works painstakingly.) (Too hard.) How do you know? How do you know that I work painstakingly?

Even actors who are adored by people and make so much money don’t like their job. Let alone, I’m not making money, and I have to spend my own money. The world is upside down. It’s very difficult to see those actors. There are dog-people in front of their houses. Big dog-people or something. They don’t let you see them. The chances are rare. If you want to see them, you have to pay for it. Right? It costs a lot. Even if they go partying or something, it still costs to get in to see them. Right? (Yes.) Because they hate… hate being chased and stared at. It’s really very tiring. Even Brigitte Bardot, she’s already 60 years old with her face all wrinkled up. Wherever she goes, people still like to look at her. She went to the… She now has become animal-people’s... She encourages people to protect animal-people. Yes or no? (Yes.) Strange. Why did I keep looking at this side? I’ll look at this side then.

She protects animal-people. So, she often goes out to encourage people to follow her in animal-people protection. However, as soon as people get there, they just stare at her instead of looking at her purpose. That’s where the problem is. Sometimes you are also like that. You just stare at me like that, and forget to… You stare as you try to get closer, and you forget your manners or common sense. She’s already 60, and there are still people looking at her, and staring at her. It’s not because she’s pretty. Now they’re just curious. No matter what, she used to be a very famous star, so everybody still likes to look at her. She went to encourage and to call on people to support her action of animal-people protection. But people ended up looking at her and forgot about her purpose. And she kept saying, “You’re here to protect animals, not to look at me.” Maybe people don’t know the difference between animal-people and people. So, they look at both.

OK? Alright, alright. Let’s dismiss, OK? May you become a new person in the New Year. Be happy. (Thank You, Master.) Cause less trouble for me. (OK.) But there is no guarantee of that. It’s because you know it today, but another day there’ll be a bunch of new initiates who don’t know it yet. And later, they make trouble again. Even if they know, habits still die hard. Therefore, I’ll still keep having a hard time like now. I’ll still have to say it again. OK. Go take down your tents. Or you do it after the meal, right? (We take down the tents first.) But you haven’t eaten yet. (Tents first.) Tents first, then the meal? Is that the rule? (No.) (No.) It’s not. Whoever wants to eat, eat. Whoever wants to take down their tents, go ahead. It’s also less crowded that way. OK? (OK.) Thank you for coming. (Thank You, Master.) Forgive me if there was anything wrong. Please. You’ll have infinite merits. OK. See you. (See You.)

Those who are staying don’t need to take down their tents, right? (Yes.) Don’t take down your tent if you’re staying. (OK.) If you take it down, you’ll have to put it up again. Too much trouble. You know it. Staying here is like being on a three-day retreat now. (OK.) Meditate and be diligent. Go eat at mealtime. Go shower at shower time. You can meditate as much as you want. But there’s no need to force yourself that much. But try your best to meditate when you can. Make the most of this opportunity. Because there’s no telephone, no children, no husband, and no wife here. It’s quieter. And there are people cooking for you. You don’t have to do anything. No shopping or anything. So, make the most of this opportunity to meditate. At least eight hours a day. Because working outside is also eight hours. (Right.) Right? (Yes.) Yes. So, you also work a bit here to earn merits. OK? (OK.) Don’t expect anything from me or give me pressure. (OK.) I know you’re here for sure. I’ll definitely come down from time to time. The merit of group meditation is limitless. I know that.

Initiates from mainland? OK. Bring it over. Whoever wants to go, just go. The foreign initiates from Korea, Hong Kong and other countries, not Aulacese (Vietnamese) whom I haven’t seen… The Koreans come up first. OK? Both males and females come up. Others can go. Anybody who wants to leave, can leave. And the Korean people, come here. Because I promised to see you. I promised to see you. Hurry up. Oh, what’s this? Come, come up. What’s this? Is it… Whoa! Whoa. Whoa, whoa. Slowly, slowly. Be careful. What’s this? Is there coconut in it? The most delicious one. Is it coconut? (Sweet potato. Sweet potato.) Sweet potato? (Sweet potato crisp.) Only these two? (There’re more. I’ll bring them over here right away.) Come, come, come, come.

Whoa! The whole country came here. The whole Korean… Is there anyone translating? Somebody translate? Where’s the microphone? (Mic.) Microphone? (Microphone.) I’ll speak Chinese. Or English? Shall I speak English? Should I speak English or Chinese? (Chinese) (Chinese.) (Chinese. English.) English. OK. OK. English is fine. (Master speaks English.) Chinese is also OK? OK. If you win against me, English. If you win against me, Chinese. Yes, yes. Come, come. One, two, three. Do it again. One, two, three! (Speak Chinese.) OK. It’s fairer this way. OK. He won. Chinese. OK. Then… You ask them if the whole Korea has come here. Has the whole country come here? Otherwise, how come there are so many? Almost the whole family is here. Children, husband, and wife.

Don’t look at the (vegan) cakes, I’ll give you later. Don’t look at the (vegan) cookies. I’ll give them to you later. OK. Recently I… (Can’t hear clearly.) Can’t hear clearly? I said don’t look at the (vegan) cookies. I’ll give it to you later. Look at Master. OK. You sit down. Otherwise, he can’t… those in the back can’t see me. Sit down. It’s OK to sit closer. Sit over here. Over there. There. And there. OK. Just squat anywhere for a while, as long as you can see. Can you see me? Can you? Can you see? Can sit behind. Occasionally look this way, look that way, like this. OK?

Koreans practice diligently. You wait till they are done, then translate. Isn’t this the problem they just complained about? OK. Because you practice diligently. And every three-day and seven-day retreat, the Koreans come the most. Because, compared with the neighboring… neighboring countries, Korea has the highest percentage. Because not counting Taiwan (Formosa). I’ve been in Taiwan (Formosa) for a long time, lecturing throughout the country. And in Korea there were only… How many times? Only two, three, or four times? Three times? OK. Are there any questions? Everything OK? Are you satisfied? (Yes.) Will you be angry with me about something? Are you angry with me about anything? Is there any question?

(I’m doing Quan Yin [inner Heavenly Sound] well, however…) It is not turned on, he also understood. OK. It’s alright. You speak. What did he say? (The time flies when I’m doing Quan Yin [inner Heavenly Sound meditation], but not on the Quan Quang [inner Heavenly Light meditation].) (He said that he is better in the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation, but still not used to the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation. Therefore, when doing the Sound meditation, time passes very fast. However, time passes slowly when doing the Light meditation.) Yes. It’s alright. He’ll get used to it later. Because I’ve told you, the (inner Heavenly) Sound is stronger. You have to be patient.

(When I read Your books, the wisdom eye becomes hot, and when I’m doing Quan Quang [inner Heavenly Light meditation], it becomes even hotter. Is that not dangerous?) (He said that when he reads Master’s books, his wisdom eye gets hot. And there is also a hot energy when he concentrates here to do the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation. Isn’t this dangerous?) No, no. It’s beginning to be safe.

(When I’m doing Quan Quang [inner Heavenly Light], I get pain here. What can I do?) (When she does the Light meditation, she feels pain here. Why is it so?) Pain? (Pain. Ache. Yes.) Pain. Tell her not to force herself too much. Sit there as if we’re sleeping. Instead of using these eyes to see, look from here, like when you’re looking at me. Avoid too much stress. Do not intentionally put too much stress on yourself; you will have a headache.
