And then he said to me, he thanked me and everything, for the things we did for him, and nobody has ever done so much. I said, “Oh, no, it’s OK. We do that if necessary. It’s just ‘Love thy neighbor’ stuff.” But some people think it is strange. Because everybody reads the Bible, “Love thy neighbor,” but when we act out of the Bible, they feel like scared or strange, like we want something from them. Like his wife, for example. Because people just don’t act out what they study, what their religion tells them. So, when somebody else really acts it out, they feel very suspicious. “What kind of people are these? What does She want?” Yeah, I had a problem with my neighbor also. This is another long story. […]

Some people, I tell you, it’s not like only the homeless people, or the single people, or the people who aren’t married that need care, or the old people. Sometimes people really need love within a marriage. They’re married, but they don’t have love. […] (I think the love is there deep down.) Maybe, maybe it’s so. But the human beings, they need more than just inside. He’s not a saint. Anyway, so sometimes people have a marriage, have a wife, have kids, and have business, have employees, have friends. But when he’s sick, nobody’s there. Of course, they come after the second day, with flowers and chocolates, and that’s it. But nobody is there when he needs a helping hand to walk to the bathroom, when the nurse is too busy, when he’s lonely at night. He said it was a very frightening and lonely experience for him. I know all that, I can feel that. That’s why I wanted to help him, even though it looks like he has family and friends and everybody, but it’s not like people were there to help him. […]

I do understand people’s feelings. When they really need it, I know it. But when they pretend to need, that’s when I don’t like it very much. Like craving for attention, just for nothing. […]
